History
Adolf and Alfred Kurth founded Certina in Grenchen in 1888. In 1960 it presented the DS-1 and its Double Security concept. That abbreviation remains on most of its watches. Today it is part of the Swatch Group and focuses on affordable sports and diving watches with Powermatic 80 calibres.
